Halloween 2008

This picture was also taken just at dusk.  It's a little out of focus but it shows Barry Dull's grave, the Witch gathering, and the ghost lights.

Here's the little Vampire, sitting in the tree above the cluster of Witches.

Here is obligatory pukin' pumpkin for this year.  I put it out along the sidewalk this year rather than on the steps.

For the third pumpkin this year, I made a weeping face.  I put it where, in earlier years, the pukin' pumpkin normally sat.

When I was digging the Halloween decorations out this year, I couldn't find the arch that I always set up near the beginning of the sidewalk.  This arch is essential as I use it to drape a power cord over to get power to the other side of the walkway where the witches are set up.

Since I couldn't find it, I bought another one.  Over the years, the manufacturer has simplified it and it's just plain black-painted metal tubing with orange lights but none of the black-painted brush attached.  Since it was so plain looking, I attached a garland of fall leaves to it to add a bit of interest.  Of course, as soon as I bought it and set it up, I found the original one so I moved this arch up near the front door.

This picture shows both the old arch in the foreground and the new one farther down the sidewalk.  In the left center foreground, you can see the little Zombie next to the tree trunk.

I took this shot from the driveway right at the front sidewalk.  You can see the clump of trees where I put the gathering of Witches and the little ghost lights.  these lights were something of an afterthought.  I saw them on sale at the local Lowes the week before Halloween and decided to add a couple strings of them to this area.  In the background you can see the rope lights along the sidewalk and the side of the pukin' pumpkin at center right.

This year I  dug out some old pumpkin lights that I hadn't used since a couple years before we moved to this house in 2005.  I found them in the bottom of one of the Halloween bins and, just for the heck of it, tried them.  Since they still worked, I decided to put them out along the raised flowed bed instead of rope lights this year..

I took this shot looking just to the right of our yard  on Halloween afternoon.  Nothing special about it except to show the fall foliage adjacent to our yard.
