I've been building models since I was a kid in the late 50s. One of the first models I remember building was one of those old Aurora (I think) transparent red Bf-109s. My modeling interest through the mid 70s was primarily armor with an occasional aircraft here and there. Since the mid-80s when I took it up again, I've gone 180 degrees focusing mostly on 1/48 scale aircraft and some occasional armor. Unfortunately, none of my armor models survived the first couple military moves in the early 80s. I usually like to finish my models with an in-service, well used look. Most receive at least moderate weathering. I normally display them mounted on some sort of base that give an idea of the natural operational environment of the model's real-life counterpart. My favorite modeling eras are aircraft from WW-I, WW-II, the French Indochina experience, and the US Vietnam War. That said, I'll give just about anything a try if the subject/model interests me. Check
below for pictures of a couple of the models I've built.

| Here's where I display my models at the moment. There are actually two identical cases side by side but the one on the left has a uniforms from my uniform collect in it. I have two other display cases in storage and, once I have created some more space, hope to bring them down and put some more models in them. For the time being, though, I just rotate models in and out of the case from time to time. |
